KUBOT: THE ASWANG CHRONICLES 2

Just when you thought that Tiktik was bad-ass, wait ‘till you see this. GMA Films never outdid themselves since Muro Ami. It’s great seeing them back in making an awesome film. I just wish that we won’t wait for more than a decade for another GMA classic.

MY BIG BOSSING

Despite the awards received, Vic Sotto had a tough year because of the hate mails and bad reviews about My Little Bossings. Now that Kris Aquino and the never-ending product placements are gone, can he redeem himself and keep the Christmas tradition alive?

FENG SHUI 2

This is perhaps the most intriguing entry of this year’s MMFF. I love how I was able to discuss this with critics and Star Cinema fans. Most people who liked the first part were disappointed with this. Some liked this film and others are just okay with it.

ENGLISH ONLY, PLEASE

The film started strong with the introduction of Jennylyn Mercado’s Tere. The usual Jadaone female lead. You know, tatanga-tanga. But what’s different from her is that there is the sex element involved in her katangahan. It’s slightly more matured than Tadhana and more graphic than Mayohan. But this is still a love story. We were introduced to Rico who was perfectly portrayed by Kean Cipriano. I remember teenagers in the theatre saying, “Tangina talaga ng mga ganyan, talaga! So relate. Ipapapanood ko ito kina besties.” and I was like, “Bitch, you know nothin!” in Chris Rock’s voice.

40th MMFF Main Category Awards Night Results

Here are the results, and some side comments, for this year's MMFF Awards Night...

SHAKE, RATTLE & ROLL XV

A lot of things have changed since that disappointing experiment by Chito Roño two years ago. Can SRR redeem itself or is this the end of one of my favorite Christmas traditions?
