TEN MOST ANTICIPATED FILMS OF QCINEMA 2017

Before the opening day tomorrow, here are the ten films that I look forward to the most in QCinema 2017. Take note that this list is hard to make and I had a couple of changes before finalizing because there's a lot of promising films that will be showcased this year. Click the titles below for their trailer. To know the entire lineup, go to our QCinema Guide
1. LOVING VINCENT (Dorota Kobiela & Hugh Welchman) - The opening film that will surely capture the hearts of art enthusiasts. Don't miss its nationwide release on November 1, 2017
2. LOVE BITES (Carl Joseph Papa) - Another animated film about a depressed senior citizen? Count me in!
3. THE WRITE MOMENT (Dominic Lim) - Probably the surprise hit of the year with a familiar theme and charismatic leads.

4. NEOMANILA (Mikhail Red) - Timely, with a promising ensemble and from the creators of some highly-praised Filipino films today.
5. THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER (Yorgos Lanthimos) - Another captivating thriller from the guy who converted us with "The Lobster" last year.

6. ANIA 'TI NAGANMO? (Ice Idanan) - Personal favorite among the eight shorts. I just feel that it will be a unique, heartwarming story for everyone.
7. KFC (Lê Bình Giang) - Looks fun, macabre and totally bonkers. Curious though why it was not included in the Before Midnight category.
8. DORMITORYO (Emerson Reyes) - Wondering how it will expand the Cinemalaya 2011 Best Short Film "Walang Katapusang Kwarto". It's also the return of Emerson Reyes to the director's seat after MNL 143.
9. POP AYE (Kirsten Tan) - Feels like a more realistic and heartfelt version of Okja. Adding to that, it won Best Screenplay at the last Sundance Film Festival.
10. BALANGIGA: Howling Wilderness (Khavn) - Six words: It's not a film by Khavn. He also mentioned that there will be a flying carabao and Gitik Gitik is such a groovy soundtrack.

So, what films are you gonna watch first this weekend?
QCinema will run from October 19 to 28, 2017.
